This cheesy bacon bread rolls recipe is a soft fluffy ketogenic bread covered in mozzarella cheese and delicious bacon pieces.
I've been super-busy in the last weeks. Luckily, my blogger friend Aaron from FatForWeightLoss has kindly offered to help me out with a guest post. Aaron is a nutritional therapist and well known for his ketogenic bread recipes - and I have to say, this one sounds absolutely delicious. Over to Aaron now!
Hello everyone, Aaron here. I'd like to briefly explain the principles of the ketogenic diet for those of you who are not familiar with it.
A keto diet is just a low carb diet coupled with a higher fat intake. The number of carbs depends on each person, but it is usually below 20 grams of net carbs per day. Net carbs just mean that you subtract the amount of fiber from the total carbohydrates consumed within a meal.
The ketogenic diet has grown in popularity over the past few years. But it can be very hard for some people to stick with because they just love bread way too much!
However, let me show you how to make these cheesy bacon bread rolls. They are not only sugar-free, but will fill that void if going ketogenic is your thing and you are missing that bread-y texture you’ve been craving.
This limited amount of carbohydrate intake will switch your body over to burning ketones as your primary source of fuel. Alternatively, you can look at your body switching from being a sugar burning steam train with all the black dirty soot covering the engine, to a clean burning Tesla that runs on fat and ultimately does less damage to your body.
Why Go Ketogenic?
So why would we want to reduce the amount of sugar we consume and switch our bodies over to burn fat instead? Let me explain why we would want to pursue this:
1.) Metabolically, fat is a superior fuel for the body
2.) Consuming fats enhances your brain function and gives mental stability
3.) Greater health and longevity that comes from controlling your blood sugar levels naturally.

The first few times I made these they were amazing. Rose so much!! The last few times they haven't, I've tried to figure out if I've done anything different but I just can't figure out what I've been doing wrong. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated please
Katrin
Maybe this had something to do with your baking powder? If it's old, it won't work so well. Also, try keeping your ingredients at room temperature so the oven has less work to do. Hope these tips are useful (I'm assuming you're using the same ingredients and the same oven).

Hi. I'm trying out a lot of these recipes and enjoying them!! Question - your recipe calls for psyllium husk, but the instructions say psyllium husk powder. Knowing there is quite a difference in the quantity used, which is the correct ingredient please. Thank you.
Katrin
Hi Gillian, I have just spoken to Aaron from Fat For Weightloss who guest-posted this recipe. He says he originally used psyllium husk powder, but that you could probably use less. Personally, I'd try to use 2 1/2 tbsp of psyllium husk powder or 5 tbsp of psyllium husk and see if you get a good dough consistency. Add more if necessary.

Would love to try this recipe. Can I use apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar?

I am allergic to almonds. Can I replace the almond flour with something else?
Katrin
Hello Maria, Let me ask Aaron. Many people who cannot eat almond flour use coconut flour instead. But the quantities change as coconut flour is way more absorbent.
Aaron
Hi Maria,
I'm hoping that you are also not allergic to coconut because that's what I am about to suggest.
You could substitute the almond flour for coconut flour, but instead of using 1 1/4 cups, use 1/3 Cup coconut flour. That should do the trick!

These rolls sound heavenly. Cheese, bacon and bread together... perfection.
